Derrick celebrated his first of many Father’s Days, and it couldn’t have gone better. The babies always get so excited when they see him in the morning, and today they just couldn’t get enough of him. I think they must’ve known it was a special day.
They even helped him read his card and unwrap his gifts. The card was special because we made it ourselves with a cute message inside. Corbin and Lynley also gave their Daddy a root beer float kit (thanks pinterest), new shirts for tennis and dress shirts, and a rack to hold his coffee k-cups, which previously were just strewn across the counter! I think that was the best gift of the bunch.
Derrick’s family came over for lunch, and we celebrated with Grandaddy as well. Lynley wasn’t sure what to think of this man who looked like Daddy, but didn’t sound or smell like Daddy! She knows her Grandad, but I think she was confused today. She was more interested in her Grandma and Aunt Danielle. Corbin, on the other hand, was stuck like glue to his Uncle Dusty! This isn’t a surprise, Dusty, Derrick’s older brother, is somewhat of a baby whisperer. He has always been great with all his nieces and nephews.
We also skyped with my mom, stepdad and sister today, so we could tell Gramps happy Father’s Day. They watched the babies play and witnessed Corbin’s new trick. Stay tuned for a video this week! I also skyped with my dad, Grandpa and other family members Saturday night. Unfortunately, Corbin and Lynley were already in bed, but we plan to try again soon.
So how was everyone else’s day?

Wow, that sure is one lucky Daddy. I’m sure that he totally deserves all that love. Looking forward to teaming up together. Double trouble x Two!

Thank you! It was a great day, and that look on Derrick’s face is always there when he has his babies in his lap. He is such a doting father. I love it!
