Any mom who has tried to feed a toddler knows the battle that sometimes ensues. Toddlers are finicky! Corbin and Lynley are in this stage of being pretty selective about what they put in their mouths.
I’ve read about this, and it’s completely normal. In fact, Parents.com calls it a safety mechanism. Apparently, children develop this hesitancy with objects starting around 16 months so that they don’t choke on things they shouldn’t have in their mouths. Somehow though, mine have mistaken food as something they shouldn’t put in, and still go after every tiny piece of paper, leaf, book, mom’s hair accessories, etc. they can get their hands on.
Since the twins don’t think they need to eat vegetables or meat, I’ve had to either be creative or just give them a little food pouch of pureed fruit/veggies. Beech-Nut recently sent us some of their purees to try out, and thankfully, this is something that my babies want to put in their mouths! In fact, they can’t get enough of it.
Beech-Nut is not baby food. It’s real food for babies. The company has a passion for organic food, and believes the best food is food simply prepared with fresh ingredients. Beech-Nut never over-processes, overcooks or over thinks their products. What you see is what you get.
I cannot say enough great things about this company. These guys really get it. The packaging was impeccable. I saved the wooden box that the jars came in, and I saved the jars too! I can’t part with them, so I’m recycling them for craft storage. But, Beech-Nut is more than just a pretty presentation.
They combine healthy vegetables for the best tasting ‘real food for babies’ that I’ve ever tasted. Corbin and Lynley enjoyed digging in with their spoons and loved the flavors we were sent.
Beech-Nut will be available for purchase in grocery retailers this month. Follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.
